Sunday Reflection 9/4/16

holy spirit 2

Good Morning dear Friends ~

Today is a personal journey for me.   I start with trusting in the Spirit, which I have.  Last Thursday I was put to the test.  I have some liver issues, and with these issues I have a tube going from my liver through my bile duct and into the lower intestine.  I prayed to the Holy Spirit asking whatever He wanted to happen would happen.

I was going back to the hospital to have the original tube removed/or replaced.  I was very nervous for the outcome.  Going into the procedure room I spoke with the Dr. he wanted to look at the site before making his decision.  I was OK with him replacing the tube and hoped that would happen.  It did…………

This means I will have the tube in again until September 29th or until this Dr see fit for it to come out.

With the Holy Spirit’s help I was able to feel calm with this decision.

Pouring It In

The Spirit pours faith into us. The tactics will be different from one person to another. It may be through a sermon, a worship service, a youth event, a song, a testimony, an act of kindness, a relationship of love, a struggle of conscience, a brush with disaster or insanity, a steady gradual series of changes, a blissful ‘peak experience’ moment, a shaken-up charismatic experience, or a whisper calling to you from inside. In that faith, we can be happy — even daring — in our relationships with other people, because the Spirit is working through us, and that will not come to naught.

My experience was the whisper calling from inside to trust Him.   I did and the outcome was what I hoped for.

Wishing you the best Sunday ever.

Much love,

Rose

Almost Finished

Good Morning Friends ~

Well we are 90% finished with the office/tv room ~

I do want you all to see the pillow I made for our new couch, and a few finished pictures of the room

pillow 3

My good friend Barbara is making the curtains and putting together the 3 pillows I have asked her to make for this room, but here is the quilted pillow I made.

We have not put the pictures on the wall at this point, but you can get a little idea of how it is going to look.

I wanted the tray on the bench to go with the rest of the room so I cut a circle out of one of the materials I used in the pillow and decoupage it into the inside of the tray.  I love how it came out.

Also in a few week I will have these cute little pillow in my Etsy store.  They will be Christmas ornaments ~ These match my fabrics in the room.

Have a beautiful Saturday

Who is the Holy Spirit

Good Morning Friends ~

Christian tradition starts speaking of the Spirit by saying that the Holy Spirit is God, based on the Bible.

The Spirit has the attributes of God, such as :

Not only is the Holy Spirit God, the Spirit is a full person of the Trinity. What is meant by that? (Forgive me for talking strange here, but this is about the Holy Spirit, the One that words are least able to describe.) The Spirit is an ‘I’, able to take action and cause action. The Spirit is able to be a ‘we’ with other ‘I’s. The Spirit can be addressed as ‘you’; by other ‘I’s (such as you and me), and can respond as an ‘I’. Thus, when we say, “Come, Holy Spirit”, the Spirit can come, not as if on command, but as promised.

It is a bit confusing at first, but when you read it slow you will understand it better.

Getting to know the Spirit has opened my eyes to a whole new world.  I am understanding my faith in a way I never knew could be possible.

Sometimes as I am writing to you I do not know where the words are coming from except the Spirit, and that in itself is touching my heart.

Until next Sunday Reflection ~ have an amazing week.

Much love,

Rose

p.s. Most of the words in my Sunday Reflections are from a site I am reading ~

Update ~ Office/TV Room

Good Morning Friends ~

Hope you are all having a great Monday.  I now have my final picks for the New Office/TV Room.

The couch and material will be ~

The couch was found with the material I like, but the couch is a bit different.  I do not like the nail heads on the arms.  I love the simplicity of the Sarah Sleeper Sofa.

The first picture will be 2/3 of the curtain – Great price $14.98 a yard but 108″ wide

Well friends this is where we are right now.  This week we will be taking the large desk apart and hopefully pulling the rug up.

Wish us luck – I am getting a bit excited now – things are starting to happen.

Will post again when things get started.

Have a wonderful week.

The little bench

Good Morning Friends ~

I have had a few different designs by our front door.

Living in a condo has many many rules.  I know that they are necessary, but that doesn’t mean I have to like them.

There are 2 closets on either side of the entryway, and the BOD needs to be able to get into these closets without anything in the way.

So that being said I have tried and have failed 2x’s with my decor.

So we purchased this cute little bench, which by the way I love.

outside

As I have said in my resent post it takes me a few tried before I get it right.  This was no different.  We get lots of wind in this little courtyard and the pillows kept falling over.  I went onto Pinterest looking for ideas, and came up with this one.  Finding this watering can was the answer.  It keeps the pillows in place by it’s long spout.

And, ……. the best part I only need this flower arrangement ~ any more flowers would be too much for this small space.

Just a few more pics of the little outdoor space.

“Florida Room” board challenge

Good Morning Friends ~

I love putting a room together, and determining how to bring out the best in a space, so when Douglas Elliman Real Estate invited me to participate in a “Florida Room” board challenge, I was so excited to give it a try!

They have such beautiful Florida properties, which gave me lots of inspiration for my post!

A Florida Room to someone living in the North East would have to be a 3 season room ~

To start it would have to have a fireplace ~

There would be beautiful flower boxes ~ like these

I would use a beautiful rug.  I am partial to the color blue, so it would look something like this

This room would have to have comfortable furniture, but also be beautiful.

Notice the blue again ~

How to create a wall collage

Good morning friends ~

I have always wanted to do a wall collage of family pictures ~

hall 1

This is one view of the beginning of my wall collage ~ I think I have 1 family picture in all these photos, but many memorable pictures so far.

I guess there is no particular right or wrong when trying to create a wall collage.

Pete & I decided to put all the pictures on the floor ~

We moved the pictures around until we were happy with the way they looked ~ I then took a picture using my phone of how we were going to hang them on the wall, which was very helpful when we started to remove the pictures one by one.

hall 4

This was our inspirational picture, this was the first to go onto the wall.  I saw this many years ago in a sweet little craft store and wanted it so badly ~ It reminded me of Kristin & Aly when they were little.  Pete brought it for me the first Christmas in our new home.  It is called “First Snow”

hall 5

Another special picture is from our Godson – It’s a “Thomas Kinkade” the name is “Foxglove Cottage”

hall 2

This picture our oldest daughter Kristin took and gave to me one Christmas.   It was so special to see this picture again, it is of our first home in upstate NY.

Enjoy your day ~

Time to say Good-Bye

Good Morning All ~

Today is our last full day in Beautiful California ~

We stayed at this wonderful Air B&B in Pasadena – It is an original 1913 Sears Craftsmen Home.

The home was beautiful, and the grounds as you can see just as beautiful.

We had the girls & Brian over for dinner last night ~ Had a wonderful time.

They have a day filled with lots of surprises for us.

Pete is playing racquetball now with Jenny, Brian & ALy ~ Next is lunch, and I think a place to get ice cream & some special donuts.  Here come the pounds, but worth it.

Then not sure what the rest of the day will entail, but just being together is enough for me.

Here we are the 6 of us at a real cute pub.

family

We had the best day so many memories.

Now I would love to share this amazing Craftsmen Home with you

Here are pictures of the outside and the grounds ~

Now for the inside ~

Enjoy !!!

Have a wonderful day.

Much love,

Rose
