Good morning friends~ Well it’s been quite hectic around this place. We had our rugs pull up & had vinyl flooring put in it’s place. We love how they came out.
We chose vinyl because of its durability. We live in a condo, and for sound purposes it’s better then wood. No scratches no dents just all around better then wood. purchase at LL Flooring.
We purchased area rugs for the floors, but when they arrived they were rolled very tightly. We turned them to the opposite side for a few days and that was the trick to taking the wrinkles out.
One morning I was looking from the Dining Room into the kitchen & said to Pete, how about we put the DR where the Living Room is, and move the LR furniture into the DR. He thought I was a bit crazy, but the finished product is just perfect.
New sitting room ~
This use to be the dining room. Now our sitting room sitting room
Our New Dining Room ~
I can finally walk around my tableJust love the size of this room. It’s where this beautiful dining room set belongs. All pieces can be together in one room. This was my mother in law furniture. What a gift ♥️And, now a fireplace in the Dining room. Perfect Mantelpiece mantelpiece
We wish you our dear family & friends a very Merry Christmas & a safe a beautiful New Year
Hello friends ~ Today I want to share our finished Guest Bed & Bath. We have been wanting to redo both these room for a few years now, so being stuck in the house due to Covid we decided to tackle the job. We had a carpenter come and put up the crown moldings & the bead board in the bathroom. We also had both rooms painted. The project took 9 weeks to complete. So happy this is finished and the house is back in order.
I couldn’t be happier with the finished product.
While you are going through the process it seems like it’s never going to be finished, and then here you are wondering what your next project will be. 🤔
For now I’m going to enjoy the holidays & maybe sometime in the near future do the floors. That’s another post for the spring. Until then have an amazing Thanksgiving & Christmas. Much love,
Nora, the woman who owns the store was so helpful in my decision making.
I love her work & wanted to redo the old garland / swag over our bed. She made the flowers & when I received them today, I cut the old flowers off the swag / garland and replaced them with these amazing paper flowers
It was what the room was waiting for. It is complete now.
I love them Nora.
Thank you so much.
Hope you are all having a wonderful day.
Much love,
Next, we have decided to do a small update in the Office.
First to go are the recliner, large desk & rug. The desk & recliner we will donated to the Salvation Army.
I love donating to them, they so appreciate everything you give them.
Our new design will consist of:
New 55” smart TV
New carpet
New Recliner
AND ✨ a little tweak here & there.
MY INSPIRATION ~
We painted about two years ago and the walls are in great shape. It should be quite easy to make this change since all we have to do is put the desk together.
Best Buy will install the TV & Lowe’s will install the carpet.
Pete & I stayed at our daughters for 4 days. We did some exploring in her area.
Exploring Prospect Park was the highlight of our visit. It sits on 585-acre and is 151 years old. What a gem and in walking distance to our daughters place.
We were at LaFrak Center at Lakeside.
The lake is home to hundreds of Red ear Slider turtles 🐢
The rustic arches were breath taking
Yes that is my husband being a nut as usual. But, this is one of the things I love about him.
The boathouse in Prospect Park was built in 1905 & one of NY first building to be declared an historic landmark.
We went inside, but sorry no pictures. The staircase was amazing. You can use both sides of the staircase to enter the second floor deck area. When on the deck you see Lullwater Bridge.
The waterfall under the bridge is so peaceful.
I hope you enjoyed our small tour of Prospect Park.
Have a peaceful day. Turn up the sound on the video, and it will start or end you day peacefully.
I have lots of pictures. I hope you enjoy them all.
Much love,
Rose💕
This room is one of the hardest tasks I’ve ever taken upon myself. We went through so many changes throughout the remodel. Now that it is complete we couldn’t be happier. The quilt was handmade.
These pillow cases were purchased at Soft Surroundings They are beautiful.
The king pillow cases were purchased on Etsy. Southern Linens
The end table purchased at Birch Lane. The lamp was purchased at Lamps Plus.
Curtain was made by my friend They are beautiful.
A little view from our deck outside the Master.
A better view of the little deck
The two photos on either side of the dresser I took while at a beautiful garden in South Carolina. I had them put onto canvas
This sweet cabinet was purchased at Decor Steal. I lined it with the same fabric in the quilt.
I painted the table with chalk paint & transferred the decal. The horse was purchased at Decor Steal.
The shelf above our bed. It is 5” wide. Perfect for pictures & some sweet things that mean so much.
The bathroom is a mirror image of the bedroom. Using board and batten
I saw a picture on Pinterest and decided to use the hooks instead of a towel bar.
This cute little shelf was purchased at Hobby Lobby. My sweet husband got the glass angel at Pottery Barn. I made the heart.
The glass containers were purchased at Pottery Barn tissue box and & trash can was purchased at World Market
Here is the closet. I purchased the chandelier at Wayfair. It totally made this space elegant.
The closet units were also purchased at Wayfair. Shoe boxes at the Container Store. We wallpaper the back wall. I am in love with the wallpaper.
Today when I woke up, still in the guest room I slowly walked to the Master Bedroom and looked at this amazing room. Something I worked on for 6+ months.
It truly payed off. The hours I spent looking through Pinterest and pictures I put onto my New Master board.
I’m overjoyed with the results.
The moldings are beautiful and we had an artist created this for us.
I love the shelf above the bed. It is 5” deep so it can hold pictures, and pretty much so many other things.
The end table is perfect. There is a hidden small table that pulls out for a cup of coffee or tea, and lets be honest an occasional glass of wine.
The wood horse sits on top of the armoire.
The wood cabinet holds very special things given to me, especially our first set of wedding bands make by my Dad ♥️♥️
