Sunday Reflection 10/9/16

the-spirit

Good morning Friends ~

So we talk about Peace today:

The fruit of the Spirit includes a peace that goes beyond that of salvation. It is a sweet relationship. We are called to His presence (Ephesians 2:11-18) and called to be confident in that presence (Hebrews 4:16) because we are His friends (John 15:15). As Isaiah 26:3 says, “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.”

God’s peace transcends earthly matters, as Philippians 4:4-7 illustrates. Believers are to be “anxious for nothing,” for God promises to “guard your hearts and minds.” It is a peace “which transcends all understanding”; that is, to the worldly mind, such peace is incomprehensible. Its source is the Holy Spirit of God, whom the world neither sees nor knows (John 14:17).

The Spirit-filled Christian has a peace that is abundant, available in every situation, and unlike anything that the world has to offer (John 14:27). The alternative to being filled with the Spirit and His peace is to be filled with alarm, filled with doubt, filled with foreboding, or filled with dread. How much better to let the Spirit have control and perform His work of growing fruit to the glory of God!

As we leave Mass on Sunday the priest always says “Go in Peace”

Now I see those three little words so differently.

We are taking the Spirit with us all week.

Pete & I had the good fortune to go to Stockbridge MA this week.  As we were walking around this beautiful town I saw the sign pointing to The Divine Mercy Chapel –

Of course I had to go.  It was so beautiful inside & out.  The people were there saying the Divine Mercy Prayers.

It was an honor to be there.   The beauty that people experience as they pray, so devote and humble.

I felt at Peace as I watched them pray.

Take the Peace of the Spirit with you all week ~ Peace be with you all.

Much love,

Beautiful Hydrangea

Good Morning Friends ~

A few posts ago I shared with you the beautiful hydrangea I received from a dear friend.  I finally found the perfect spot for them.

I mixed faux white hydrangea with the pink dried hydrangea.  They look so good together.

A few more pictures of these beautiful flowers.

They sit on top of the wall unit in the Family Room.

A little history on my wall units ~

The doors on the front of the wall unit were made by my Dad about 65 yrs ago.  My parents had a fireplace in there home but,  after we were born my Dad decided to make the fireplace into a bookcase.  He didn’t want us to hurt ourselves if we fell near the fireplace.

After my Dad passed away I was gifted the bookcase.  We had an amazing carpenter make the wall unit using the original door to the bookcase/mantle.  I am so thrilled to have them in our home.

If you are wondering what the white cap is on the wall ~

It is a sprinkler system in case of a fire.  They are in every room in the condo.

Have a fantastic day.

Sunday Reflection 10/2/16

holy-spirit-1

Good Morning Dear Friends ~

Today I share with  you how I might need an operation to reconstruct my common bile duct.  I need lots of strength for this operation.  I know that if I trust in the Holy Spirit He will be with me throughout this process.

I do lean on Him everyday.  I have become extremely close to Him, and I know I will be trusting Him ~

The Holy Spirit is the Source of Joy. His Presence brings joy. His fruit is joy. His Wisdom increases our joy. He is the Spirit of Wisdom. The pursuit of money, or having it does not produce joy. We cannot depend on our loved ones to create an atmosphere of happiness.

There are five misconceptions about joy. Many think joy comes from people, promotion, progress, power or possessions. The wise person discovers the truth. The Holy Spirit creates joy within us every moment that He is pleasured. When we pleasure Him through total obedience, we will feel what He is feeling. When we grieve Him and bring Him sorrow, we will feel what He is feeling.

HE is our only true Source of peace…the absence of inner conflict. His Presence brings peace. When we obey His instructions a calmness will enter our spirit. The greatest warfare of our life is the Holy Spirit versus our flesh and self. When we permit the leadership of the Holy Spirit in our life, we will enter the most remarkable and unforgettable season of calm and inner peace we could imagine.

I know His presence brings peace, because I am feeling peace in my life.  This is exactly what I need to have this operation work for me.

Thank you Holy Spirit for giving me this peace.

Have a wonderful Sunday Friends.

Much love,

Rose

Sunday Reflection 9/25/16

Happy Sunday Dear Friends ~

I will be sending you all the fruits of the Spirit, one by one in the next few weeks

I feel the first fruit we should read about is the fruit of “LOVE”

GOD IS LOVE

Now, why is it that the fruit of the Spirit is love? Because God is love (I John 4:8).

And what does that mean?

It is the very nature and being of God to delight in communicating Himself. God has no selfishness; God keeps nothing to Himself. God’s nature is to be always giving. You see it, in the sun and the moon and the stars, in every flower, in every bird in the air, in every fish in the sea. God communicates life to His creatures. And the angels around His throne, the seraphim and cherumbim who are flames of firewhere does their glory come from? It comes from God because He is love, and He imparts to them part of His brightness and His blessedness. And we, His redeemed children-God delights to pour His love into us. Why? Because, as I said, God keeps nothing for Himself. From eternity God had His only begotten Son, and the Father gave Him all things, and nothing that God had was kept back. “God is love.”

Isn’t it wonderful how much God loves us all.

This is so true how we find God in so many things, and if we really look we can see Him in each other.

Have the best day.

Much love,

Rose

Beautiful Sunday in the North East

Yes ~ she brought me the perfect bouquet of hydrangea today from her garden.

Aren’t they beautiful  ~

We continued our visit walking around Saratoga and stopping for lunch at Jacob Anthony’s.

Can’t get much better than this.  The weather was perfect 70 degrees and so sunny.

Office/TV Room Reviel

Hi Friends ~

Well it’s finally finished ………..YEA……….. and another beautiful job by my friend Barbara ~

She does the most amazing work ~ She made the curtains, and the pillows ~

I did the cross stitch & the quilted pillow, but she put it together for me.

office-31 office-30

The white pillow is from an antique embroider table cloth.  And of course Barbara found just the right place to put the embroider flower.

Purchased this on Etsy here is the link ~

I love how the curtains came out – I had a vision and she brought it to life.

How we did the window treatments:

Barbara  brought all ready made lace curtains.  She removed 16″ from the top of the curtains then attached the blue & cream material ~ almost making it look like a valance.

Thank you so much Barbara!!!

You always do the most amazing work.

Sunday Reflection 9/18/16

holy-spirit-5

My dear friends ~

If you are willing for Jesus Christ to live His resurrection life in and through you, you will bear spiritual fruit as naturally as a healthy vine will bear an abundance of fruit.

Jesus said, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” You can be a great preacher, a Christian scholar, a deacon or elder, attend church meetings daily, live a clean, moral life, memorize hundreds of verses of Scripture, direct a church choir, and teach Sunday school, but if you are not bearing fruit in the sense that you are introducing others to Christ, you are not filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God.

I truly believe these words ~

Remember the fruits of the Spirit are:

Love

Joy

Peace

Kindness

Goodness

Faithfulness

Gentleness

Self-Control

Until next Sunday I leave you with these 8 fruits.

I know one of them will pertain to you.

Have a beautiful week.

Much love,

Rose
