Good Morning All ~
Today Pete & I are going to Arlington Gardens in Pasadena California.
Here we are sitting in one of many meditation areas. The gardens are just beautiful.
Along the path we came upon the “Wish Tree Garden” As you can see many wishes are put onto these trees. It was very touching.
We then noticed this amazing wildflower meadow ~ the flowers are so beautiful walking through this area.
A few more pictures of this beautiful spot in Pasadena, California
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter and a wonderful day.
Much love,
Rose
Good Morning My Friends ~
Today I would like to share with you some pictures of our visit to California ~
I went to lunch with my beautiful sister Mary Ann ~
We went to Cordiano Winery, an intimate family owned winery in Escondido Ca.
We sat for 2 hrs and just enjoyed each other and these wonderful views.

Just a few more pictures of this amazing winery.
Having a wonderful visit with my sister and her husband
Next up will be our girls and of course Brian.
Talk to you all real soon.
Much love,
Rose
Good Morning My Friends ~
Today I want to share a little bit of Spring ~
As you enter our home ~~~

This is on the patio door.

So here we go ~
I had the basket on the front door, but everything else including the little basket on the door to the patio was $32.00 which includes the ribbon, flowers and the cute little sign that say “Happy Easter” Not bad for a day out shopping.
All was purchased at Hobby Lobby.
Here are a few other shots of spring.
I love the softness of the colors, so spring…
Enjoy your day
Much love,
Rose
Morning Friend ~
Something I made for Valentine’s Day, but can be used through spring. It’s so delicate just perfect for your spring decor.
It was so simple – Just a few things needed to make this pretty little heart.

Things needed:
DAS air dry molding clay ~ (get at Amazon)
Mod Podge
Wood Skewer
Rolling Pin
Cookie cutter (used a heart ~ Valentine’s Day)
Tissue Paper ( of your choice ) I used roses because it was Valentine’s Day.
Small disposable paint brush
Paint color of your choice (I had patio paint and it worked wonderful)
Directions:
This molding clay is great ~ Just kneed it for a bit – this makes it easier to roll out.
After you roll out the clay use the cookie cutter and make your heart. Use the wood skewers to poke a hole (if you want to hang it with a ribbon or jute) You can also put a magnet on the back ~
Let sit over night so it completely dries.
When the hearts are dry ~ paint the entire heart ~ Use just a small amount of paint, and add water ~ Adding the water makes a consistency like water colors.
Cut out pieces of the tissue paper that you would like on the heart.
Put the mod podge on sections of the heart (I like working in small sections ~ this way it is easier to deal with the mod podge, and the tissue paper)
When you have the look you like put mod podge all over the top of the heart and let dry for a few hours.
Then do the same to the back of the heart. (This is optional ~ I did the back because I was hanging it) I think if you are using a magnet – there is no need to do the same to the back.
I used 2 coats of mod podge ~ I think 2 coats looks best
Enjoy!!
This was fun ~
Have an amazing day
Much love,
Rose
Happy Friday Friends ~
So today I decided to make these delicious shortbread heart cookies ~
Just in time for Valentine’s Day.
I found them on a blog I follow call “Everyday Occasions” here is her recipe.
http://jennysteffens.blogspot.com/2016/01/shortbread-heart-sandwich-cookies.html?m=1
The recipe is quite simple, but if you decide to leave the dough in the fridge over night leave it out on your counter for awhile. The dough needs to be room temperature. Always flour the surface and the rolling pin before rolling out the dough.

I’m so happy with the way they came out.
Little Hints:
1-) When cutting out the center heart I found it easier when the heart was on the cookie sheet. I cut a few out and tried to transfer to cookie sheet and they fell apart.
2-) When ready to add the preserves put into a small plastic bag and cut the corner. It is so much easier to apply to the cookie.
3-) You can certainly use the icing, but I know Pete ~ he likes the confectionery sugar only.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all.
Much love,
Rose
p.s. Thank you Jenny for your amazing recipe.
Hi Everyone~
Hope you are all having a great week. I was busy looking on Pinterest this morning and came across this ~

Looks great right !!!!
Well the recipe is so simple ~
INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a half-gallon jar, or a 2 quart pitcher, layer the strawberries, cucumbers, lime slices, and mint leaves with the ice cubes. Fill jar or pitcher with water. Let chill for 10 minutes, and then enjoy!
Actually it’s hard to find organic strawberries right now, so I substitute the strawberries for pink grapefruit. It’s delicious.
It’s February already so lets get started with good health.
Enjoy your day and, drink up.
Much love,
Rose
Good Morning Friends ~
I posted a few days ago the sweet cabinet I received for Valentine’s Day ~
I have been looking at it for days, and thinking something is not right ~ Sooooooo this is what I did ~
Here is the before ~

Looks good, but here is the After ~

Pete found these light that run by batteries, but has a switch just like a light switch that turn it on and off. I love this concept. Also I had a piece of garland left over and it was a perfect fit for the top of the cabinet. I also changed out the inside. I was afraid the dishes might slip and break. These are my favorite dishes, and couldn’t have that happen.
Here are a few more pictures.~
Have a wonderful day.
Much love,
Rose
Good Morning Family & Friends ~
Today I would love to tell you all about the wonderful weekend I shared with my family.
It was our Mom’s 90th birthday party.
Isn’t she beautiful ~ such an amazing woman ~ so much love for her family & for her faith. ~ We love you so much Mom ~

Just a little history about Catherine Marie ~
She was born 90 years ago in the town of Lindenhurst N.Y. She lived in this town all her life. She has many friends who love her dearly.
Three of her 8 daughters live there as well – Thank God for Lori, Theresa & Regina. They take such good care of her. Doing many things for her that need to be done. ~Like~
Dr. Apts ~ Grocery shopping ~ cloth shopping ~ cleaning her apartment ~ and many, many more thing, but they do it with such love.
Thank you so much girls for always being there for our Mom…
The rest of us live in Albany NY ~ Maryland ~ Pennsylvania ~ Idaho ~ & California.
She met our Dad in this town. They married on October 12th, 1949 and had 8 daughters ~

How wonderful we could all be there with her. It was so amazing to see everyone ~
We were all together to give her this beautiful day ~ She was truly the dancing queen that day.
Thank you to Theresa & Gene for hosting this amazing celebration ~
What a beautiful couple ~ We love you both ~

Six of her 8 (son-in-law) sons were there to help celebrate the special lady in their lives.
She loves all 8 like sons. She know how much they all mean to her daughters and she know how good they are to us and to her.

Now for the jewels in grandma’s crown ~ Her grandchildren ~ so many had to travel, but they would not miss their grandma’s 90th birthday for anything. So much ~ LOVE ~

And the twinkle in her eyes her great grandchildren – Not all could be there, but the ones who were there were so happy to be together with each other and so happy to see there grammy on her special day……

Please join me, and take a moment to thank God for this beautiful woman in our lives.
We love you so much Mom, and we pray you are with us for many more years.
God Bless & protect you always ~
