Well it’s finally happened – we are living in a condo now. Pete and I both love it. It’s not you typical condo – it’s just beautiful –
We moved here 5 years ago and it did take a little time to get use to it, but I can honestly say “IT’S HOME”-
Good things about living in a condo –
1)- You have no outside jobs anymore
2)- If you are lucky enough you will like your neighbors (we love ours)
3)- Because you get along so well with your neighbors they become like family to you.
4)- No more shoveling (which Pete is sad about, so he goes around shoveling out cars and helping neighbors)
5)- There is an excercise room right in your own back yard – not to mention a beautiful club house – pool – beautiful deck –
6)- The condo takes care of all the outside flowers as well –
7)- Speaking of flowers, I spend half the amount of money every year now.
I could go on and on but this is just a few pluses to owning a condo – especially when you are 55+
That being said I would love to share with you some pictures of our Home.
This is my go to breakfast –
I cut up an apple into small pieces
Add 1 5.3 oz container of Chobani Yogurt ( I love Pineapple)
Add 1/4 cup of Fruit & Honey Granola
- 3-1/2 Cups Quaker Oats
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt (optional)
- One – 6-oz package diced dried mixed fruit – about 1-1/3 cups
Heat oven to 350
In large bowl, combine oats and pecans; mix well.
In seperate bowl, mix honey, vegetable oil, vanilla & cinnamon salt if you like
Mix together with wisk –
Pour over oats & pecans – (use a large fork to mix ingredients together)
Spread evenly in 15×10 inch jelly roll pan (rimmed baking sheet)
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown, after 15 minutes take out of oven and stirring mixture around
Put back in oven and cook another 10 minutes (should be finished )
Stir in fruit as soon as you take out of oven
Let cool and ENJOY………
Calories 210 per 1/2 cup
*I use on top of yogurt and only use 1/4 cup – its plenty.
It’s 8:30 am… I am reflecting back on our daughter’s wedding day.
It started with a BIG lump in my stomach, (of excitment) – Pete and I had breakfast with friends & family (which was fantastic)
We headed to Kristin & Jenny’s to pick up flowers, favors, runners, utencils and everything else that will make this day beautiful. We stayed for 2 hours helping set up for their special day.
Returned back to the hotel to get ready for this special event. I could not compose myself – the anticipation was overwhelming –
We are ready to go – picked up Aly (Kristin’s sister & maid of honor) from her room – she looked beautiful, and headed for the reception.
Oh just so you know Pete (my wonderful husband) looked so handsome. What a great husband he is, and such a fantastic dad..
We arrive at the reception – everything looked majical – (My little girl is getting married) it didn’t make sence, but when we saw her it hit me, she looked so beautiful this is truly her day, her wedding day. She is marrying her best friend Jenny, they look so calm, so beautiful, & so HAPPY…
The ceremony was beautiful – every word of their vows, so loving, so tender, so Kristin & Jenny…
The party after was so much fun – everyone had a wonderful time. The band was fantastic, the food was spectacular.
The father of the bride speech was loving & heartfelt, and Alyson’s speech brought the house down. She was amazing… Something we will remember forever.
It was so amazing spending time with family & friends. Making new friends seemed so special. These are the moments you take with you for the rest of your life…
I love you both so very much, God continue to bless and guide you thoughout your lives –
Today is Wednesday the 21st of August 2013, 4 days until Kristin & Jenny’s wedding day.
I have completed all my projects and now relaxing with a cup of coffee – It’s a beautiful sunny day and I am just reflecting back (OH maybe 32 years ago) when Kristin was a little girl.
I’m not sure where the time has gone, but now she is a beautiful woman ready to get married. It seems like yesterday I was holding her in my arms tending to all her little needs. (sometimes I wish I was still there with that precious little baby in my arms).
I am so happy for both of them. She is such a wonderful young woman, and I know her life will be truly blessed. She has a fantastic partner right by her side, helping her with every step they take together.
My prayer for them is, bless them both, give them strength for each other always.
I am getting the pictures together for you all to see. I should have them up by tomorrow..
God Bless & have a wonderful day.
I’m back again but this time I have a couple of pictures for you all.
We have 2-1/2 weeks before Kristin & Jenny’s wedding, and guess what I am still doing…you guessed it still making the napkins (only 30 to go) –
I did finish the runner and it looks beautiful. See above
The napkins, runner for the BIG tables, napkins all ready to go and the cute little favors……..
We are getting very excited for this beautiful event to finally happen. It’s lots of planning, lots of love, and lots of patience.
We are beginning to make final arrangements for our 2nd daughter to arrive from California.
She is Kristin’s maid of honor, and I know she is very excited to be part of this joyous occation.
Below you will see the runner I made for the buffett table –
Well see you all in a few days – more picture to come.

Today I start my blog.
I started to read other blogs, and thought this could be just the thing I am looking to do – My sisters (all 7 of them) encouraged me to do this. My goal is to be successful in my journey. I have lots to show you and I am very excited to begin.
I will begin with a little about myself: I just turned 60 this year and I am newly retired; I feel the need to get started with another chapter in my life. Decorating has always been a huge passion of mine. Some of my ideas come from HOUZZ, and looking at other blogs-
I love to garden – Waiting for late spring sometime takes forever – I live in the North East, so sometimes spring will only appear in late May – then off to the flower shop to find the flowers for planting that season. After a day of planting, and a back ache we look and say AAHHH…….
I am a spiritual person. I know that God is always there for my family & me throughout good times and not such good time. My faith is very important to me.
I am married to my best friend. He is an amazing man – I have 2 daughters; one lives in Brooklyn and is getting married this August. ( will share with you some of the crafts I am making for her wedding) My youngest lives in L.A. – she is in design, and loving her life in California. She recently adopted a cat – His name is Clark, and oh so cute. I can’t wait to meet the new addition to Aly’s life.
As for right now, I have lots to do for my daughters wedding.
I will be joining the ETSY family in January 2014 – I will begin designing jewelry… Wish me luck. God Bless – Will be back real soon. xo
